Pedagogy of the Oppressed

I have a feeling this book will never end. I keep reading it, and highlighting the important parts, and making notes... and it just goes on, and on, and on.... I think I got the main gist of it, along with the important points, and hopefully within the next couple of days I will update this post as I start writing my essay. As for now - back to reading... this book reminds me of a giant matryoshka doll, and I can't seem to finally get to the tiniest doll in the set. Frustrating!

  1. Margarita, sometimes we do not need to read a text word for word to get to the end. And sometimes we do need to go back and reread portions of a text to dig a little deeper. If you are reading Freire word for word, and if it seems very tedious to you, try a different approach to reading the text. Try skipping across the page and landing on certain passages that seem most interesting to you. In the end, reading Freire can be very rewarding, so I encourage you to stick with it. --Barbara

    1. I think my frustration was mostly induced by the fact that I had to read the book in its entirety in order to write the adequate essay. However, I was wrong. I finished the essay yesterday, and I think it came out quite good! Of course, it is only a draft so I'm looking forward to your feedback.
